Understanding The Grading System: from Colombia to Italy

The grading in Cattolica works on a scale from 0 to 30, while in Colombian universities it’s from 0–5. The systems may sound very different at first but there are a lot of similarities and we are here to explain them.

A 5 or 4.9 in Colombia means an outstanding performance, akin to 29–30 at Cattolica. Similarly, 4.5–4.8 aligns with Cattolica’s 28–25, reflecting commendable achievement. Scores between 4 and 4.4 indicate solid comprehension, much like Cattolica’s 22–24.

In Colombia, 3.6–3.9 signals a pass with some weaknesses (20–21 in Cattolica), followed by a barely pass (3–3.5 in Colombia, like Cattolica’s 18–19), but anything below 3 in Colombia or 18 in Cattolica signifies a failure.

Here you can find more information about Cattolica’s grading system.
