Yankees first baseman Tyler Austin had a nice day in the sky:

Veggie-free?

Free agent right-hander Danny Burawa — who finished last season at Double-A Mississippi but has Major League experience with the Yankees and Braves— revealed he never ate a vegetable for the first 28 years of his life:

Is that even remotely possible? He never had a burger with a slice of lettuce or tomato on it? No tomato sauce on his pizza or pasta? Not even a V8? He ordered his cheesesteaks without peppers? This might be on the veggie fringe, but not even an onion ring? Here he is in 2012 enjoying a burrito, but we don’t know what’s inside (maybe some tomato/corn/jalapeno-based salsa?):

Here’s another Burawa burrito order, with a mystery cup of what is either extra queso or tortilla soup. Qdoba’s soup is described as “100% vegetarian with diced tomatoes, onions, peppers and cilantro topped with our homemade tortilla strips.” Queso ingredients include tomatoes and roasted poblano peppers.

And this is a real stretch, but on April 3, 2012, Burawa appears to have consumed some ketchup, and, technically, the first ingredient in ketchup is “tomato concentrate from red ripe tomatoes.”

Anyway, congrats to Buruwa for becoming a professional athlete and reaching the Majors and defying nutritional recommendations. This news also follows the last edition of Minoring in Twitter in which Boston’s Kyri Washington claimed he avoided guac for 22 years.

Speaking of eating, our friend Brett Phillips says he had a lot on the line when it came to baseball and dinner:

Mets Minor Leaguer Mickey Jannis ordered a “pizookie” from his hotel:

What the heck is a “pizookie?” I Googled it. “A pizookie is a pizza-cookie hybrid, topped with dripping scoops of ice cream. The dense cookie flavors include salted caramel, cookies ’n’ cream, peanut butter s’mores and more.” I’ve found no evidence that pizza is actually part of the item, and here in New York, we don’t make pizza in round baking pans, so this seems pretty bootleg to me, although I’m sure it tastes good.

Yankees prospect Ben Heller was sent to Triple-A, but he wasn’t upset:

Twins outfield prospect Daniel Palka claims he received an autograph request letter from Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo:

The Mets’ Johnny Magliozzi tweeted this amazing GIF of Larry David, so it’s of course being included here:

Braves outfielder Adam Walker appreciates the details in his hotel room:

Phillies top prospect J.P. Crawford says he’s blessed. The $2.3 million bonus he got when he signed also probably helps:

Finally, fans in North Carolina can take a selfie with a duck (yeah, like, a real duck) named Snuggles if they show up April 10 at Grainger Stadium in Kinston:

Chipotle Tweets of the Week

Justin Haley is having a great week. First, the Twins added him to their active roster and, later, he says he went to Chipotle, tried to get some water and ended up with delicious lemonade:

Giants catcher Matt Pare says Chipotle’s spoonful’s of meat are inconsistent:

Tampa Bay’s Steve Ascher thanked Chris Archer for ordering Chipotle for Minor Leaguers:
