Collin McHugh was recently traded by the Mets to Colorado for Eric Young Jr., meaning the right-hander with Major League experience was leaving New York (and Triple-A Las Vegas) for somewhere in the Rockies’ system. That somewhere turned out to be Tulsa, Okla., a Double-A club in the Texas League:

When it comes to horrendously hot, humid, gross summer weather in July, would you rather be in Las Vegas (where it’s 110 degrees on July 4), Tulsa (where it’ll reach 93 on Friday) or New York City (where it’ll be 91 and steam will be coming out of Mr. Met’s bulbous head?)

Staying with McHugh, and in the wake of the contested marriage equality ruling/George Zimmerman murder trial/Egyptian rioting over the last 10 days, he reminds us all how to unwind:

McHugh also gives us a glimpse into life on the road. There are zero Major or Minor League Baseball teams in the state of Kansas, but I guess you need to bus your way through sometimes:

This Tweet comes from Bluefield radio announcer Trey Wilson, who had his hands full when he saw the outfield for the Blue Jays on June 30:

D-backs prospect Tyler Skaggs enjoys his footwear options:

Those red and yellow ones though — stolen from Ronald McDonald?

Indians №1 prospect Francisco Lindor Tweeted perhaps the most cliched Minor League Baseball Tweet you could possibly Tweet on June 30:

You may watch this video from Dayton’s Jackson Stephens several times and expect something to happen. Maybe Sal will wake up. Nope.

Please help support Jeremy Barfield. Every infield single and blooper helps:

Here’s to Mrs. Durham, whom we all hope is “straight” on this holiday weekend:

San Jose’s Stephen Harrold Instagram’d this photo of the Giants’ patriotic jerseys this weekend:

As did Orioles 2009 first-rounder Matt Hobgood:

This Tweet is neither funny or entertaining, but it is pretty cool — Mark Appel, the №1 pick in the 2013 Draft, if you have not yet heard, formally becomes a Minor Leaguer on Friday when he debuts for Tri-City, the Astros’ short-season affiliate in New York:

Orioles fans hoped that Dylan Bundy would be throwing no-hitters and mowing down the Yankees by July 4th weekend. Wrong. He had Tommy John surgery and he’s with his brother, another long-lost Orioles Minor Leaguer, watching re-runs of a discontinued FOX show:

Cubs №10 prospect Matt Szczur used to be a college football player. Want proof?

Justin Jackson showing off the Lansing Lugnuts’ July 4th caps:

Same for West Virginia’s Ryan Hafner:

Springfield’s Xavier Scruggs shows the Cardinals’ special cap (and then hit a walk-off homer):

Red Sox №17 prospect Anthony Ranaudo has more than just a fancy cap:

Even James Beresford, an Aussie, was pumped for July 4th in Rochester:

Portland’s Tony Thomas, come on down. You’re the next July 4th uniform Instagrammer:

But this, I declare, is the Tweet of the Week. Mr. Chestnut downed 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes on Thursday in Coney Island. Mr. Barfield has 45 hits in 57 games this season:

Pirates catcher Tony Sanchez? Of course we have one of his Tweets:

A digital camo jersey in Lansing? You can thank Brett Lawrie for that snapshot:

Cody Decker Tweet of the Week:

A-Rod Tweet of the Week:

Chipotle Tweet of the Week:

Montgomery’s Jake Floethe is ready to order, dangit! Select your meat or step aside:
