Indians №19 prospect Tyler Freeman debuted a new look this week, going with what he claims to be his grandfather’s bright-white New Balance walking shoes that he says were turned into cleats.

You’ll notice in the images above, Freeman clearly has a preference for New Balance, sporting two different variations from this season just since June. We’re not sure if he’s saying these current cleats were custom-made by New Balance for him (probably) or if he actually mailed in his grandfather’s sneakers and asked to have them turned into cleats (unlikely but awesome):

He says they’re really comfortable:

His teammates love them, too:

You, too, can get the quintessential dad/grandpa sneaker for $69.99 from New Balance. Even very large dads who wear size 18 can score a pair before heading out to wash the old truck and grill up some hot dogs:

Tyler’s dad tweeted a photo earlier this season showing off the more modern-looking New Balance cleats his son was wearing:

Big news, people, Michael Chavis is back! Yes, of course the top Red Sox prospect has been playing since July 2. And yes, he’s been hitting well enough to earn a promotion to Triple-A. But now he’s really back. For the first time since March 28, Chavis resumed his superstitious social media.

Be still hearts of MiT fans. While Chavis has only tweeted 11:11 once since his return to Twitter action, it shan’t be long before he continues his superstitious ways.

Or maybe he can try getting luck from salsa:

Red Sox third base prospect Josh Tobias says Minor Leaguers have weather-predicting powers:

Fun fact: Charleston RiverDogs and Hudson Valley Renegades owner Bill Murray once portrayed a meteorologist in Groundhog Day:

In the Little League World Series, the players are either getting younger and smaller or they’re larger than CC Sabathia:

Ryan Lillie has had enough of Florida and its lack of Animal Style burgers:

Minor Leaguers continue to have strong feelings about young baseball players who are exceedingly nice to each other:

Indians prospect and New York-Penn League Player of the Month for July Hosea Nelson showed off his superhero-esque acrobatic skills in a journey from his seat to the back of the team bus, and he wants everyone to know about it:

Bob Saget was at an International League game:

A’s Minor Leaguer Brendan Butler, who is from Queens, NY, gave his (probably biased) opinion on which state makes the best bacon/egg/cheese:

How many Minor Leaguers pick a Fortnite-themed costume? Over/under is set at 20.

Our friend Trenton Kemp, who hasn’t played in more than a month for Salem, is spending his time on the DL tackling important issues:

He then, in the length of consecutive sentences, says he didn’t know who David Blaine was and that, yes, of course he knows who David Blaine is:

Safe to say we can connect the dots on where his magic poll originated:

Trenton also endured a patience-testing experience at Walmart when the shopper in line ahead of him bent the rules:

He’s also pushing a new personal logo:

And he’s settling a fast-food debate:
