Other top prospect performances:

Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman, Triple-A Norfolk: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 4 K — Gausman was working around 96 mph early in the start, his best since tossing 4 2/3 scoreless in his first start. The 23-year-old hurler has a 3.24 ERA, 15/10 K/BB through 16 2/3 innings.

Phillies 3B Maikel Franco, Triple-A Lehigh Valley: 3-for-5, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI — A breakout performance for Franco, who looked lost at the plate just last week — in a doubleheader last Thursday, he chased numerous breaking balls off the plate and got beat a few times by inside fastballs from Aaron Laffey, who tops out in the upper 80s. Franco had the day off Friday, went 0-for-4 Saturday, but may have figured something out Sunday.

Marlins LHP Adam Conley, Triple-A New Orleans: 7 IP, 2 H, R, BB, 8 K — Conley was nearly as good as Friedrich in PCL pitcher’s duel. The 23-year-old has 25 strikeouts and seven walks through 22 1/3 innings this season.

Braves 2B Tommy La Stella, Triple-A Gwinnett: 3-for-5, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI — La Stella is hitting .327 with a 3/7 K/BB through 14 games. Dan Uggla, meanwhile, is hitting .234 for Atlanta, which seems pertinent.

Cardinals OF Oscar Taveras, Triple-A Memphis: 2-for-4, 2B, RBI, R, BB, K — The Cardinals top prospect delivered a walk-off double in the ninth.

Marlins LHP Andrew Heaney, Double-A Jacksonville: 7 IP, 3 H, ER, 9 K — Another stellar outing for the 22-year-old, as he’s allowed just one earned run over his past three starts. Heaney’s ERA is at 1.48 through four starts and his K/BB is at 25/3 through 14 1/3 frames.

White Sox SS Tim Anderson, Class A Advanced Winston-Salem: 3-for-5, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R — The second pro home run and first in full-season ball for last year’s first-round pick. The 20-year-old is slashing .281/.309/.516 through 16 Carolina League contests.

White Sox OF Courtney Hawkins, Class A Advanced Winston-Salem: 3-for-5, HR 3 RBI, R — He’s still striking out too much (20 times in 17 games), but the contact Hawkins is making is much louder, helping him rack up five homers and a .625 slugging percentage through 17 contests in his repeat of the Carolina League.
