Other top prospect performances:

Red Sox SS Deven Marrero, Double-A Portland: 2-for-4, 2B, RBI, R — Betts has grabbed all the headlines in Portland, and rightfully so, but he’s overshadowing the offensive work being done by this glove-first infielder. Marrero is slashing .306/.386/.403, and his presence is likely one reason why Betts hasn’t gotten a look at short as of now.

Rockies LHP Tyler Anderson, Double-A Tulsa: 5 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 5 K — The 2011 first-rounder worked without walking a batter for the first time this season. He boasts a 2.16 ERA and a 1.55 groundout-to-fly out ratio.

Padres OF Rymer Liriano, Double-A San Antonio: 2-for-5, HR, 3B, 4 RBI, 2 R, K — After an injury cost him all of 2013, Liriano has struggled to make contact in his return to Double-A, striking out 26 times in 23 contests. But the homer was his third this season, and he’s also stolen five bases.

Twins OF Travis Harrison, Class A Advanced Fort Myers: 3-for-5, 2B, 2 RBI, R — The 21-year-old has been consistently solid for the Miracle this season, slashing .305/.356/.451. The 2011 first-rounder has cut down on the strikeouts from last season, hitting well despite playing in a pitcher-friendly environment.

Astros RHP Lance McCullers, Class A Advanced Lancaster: 5 IP, 3 H, BB, 10 K — Highest strikeout total this season for McCullers in by far his best outing of the year. The 20-year-old has a 2.51 ERA through seven Cal League appearances.

A’s 2B Chad Pinder, Class A Advanced Stockton: 3-for-5, HR, 3B, 2 RBI, R, 2 K — The long ball was Pinder’s seventh this season, pairing good power production with a .306 average in hitter-friendly Stockton.

Rockies SS Trevor Story, Class A Advanced Modesto: 3-for-3, 2 2B, 3 R, RBI, 2 BB, 2 SB — The 21-year-old continues to hit for the Nuts, raising his average to .362 with 16 walks in 26 games. He’s also now 16-of-18 on stolen base attempts.

Cardinals RHP Alex Reyes, Class A Peoria: 5 IP, H, 2 ER, BB, 8 K, HR — Season high for strikeouts from the 19-year-old. He’s struck out 24 in 17 1/3 innings in his full-season debut, though he’s also walked 14.

Cubs OF Jacob Hannemann, Class A Kane County: 3-for-4, 2B, 3B, RBI, R, K — Hannemann is an excellent athlete, but missed two years of baseball to go on a missions trip. He returned to play with BYU in 2013, performing well enough to be a third-round pick. His baseball skills need sharpening, and his .271/.340/.376 slash line is a decent start. He’s also 9-of-10 stealing bases and reportedly can p;ay a good center field.

Rockies OF Raimel Tapia, Class A Asheville: 2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R — First full-season homer for the toolsy Dominican, who has struggled early on in the SAL.
