Tampa Bay OF Jerry Sands, Triple-A Durham: 2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R — Most of the prospect sheen has rubbed off Sands, who at one point looked like a promising bat in the Dodgers’ system. Now 26, the outfielder is hitting .389 with two homers and a 1.421 OPS to star 2014.
Chicago (NL) 3B Christian Villanueva, Triple-A Iowa: 1-for-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 Ks — First Triple-A homer for the third baseman known best for his slick defense.

Los Angeles (NL) OF Joc Pederson, Triple-A Albuquerque: 2-for-3, HR, 2 BB, 3 R, RBI — Another big day for Pederson, hitting 6-for-14 with two homers, three walks through four Triple-A contests, including an 0-for-3 showing Opening Day.

St. Louis OF James Ramsey, Double-A Springfield: 2-for-4, HR, BB, RBI, R — Ramsey’s hit safely in each of his five games to start 2014. 2012 first-rounder hit .251 with moderate power at Double-A in 93 games last year.

Milwaukee OF Tyrone Taylor, Class A Advanced Brevard County: 3-for-5, 3 2B, 2 RBI, 1 R — Center fielder is hitting .375 with 1.132 OPS and five doubles through four games in FSL debut.
Houston RHP Vincent Velasquez, Class A Advanced Lancaster: 4 IP, 5 K — Four perfect relief innings for the 21-year-old selected in the second round in 2010.
Seattle OF Gabriel Guerrero, Class A Advanced High Desert: 1-for-4, HR, SB, 3 RBI, 2 R — Mini-Vlad seems to be enjoying the California League. Hitting .500 with two homers through five games.
