Other top prospect performances:
Rays OF Mikie Mahtook, Triple-A Durham: 3-for-5, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, K — Mahtook was a solid producer in the Bulls’ lineup throughout the season, and heads into the final weekend hitting .294/.366/.467 with 12 homers and 18 stolen bases.

Mets 2B Dilson Herrera, Double-A Binghamton: 3-for-4, HR, 2 R, RBI, K — Herrera clubbed his 10th Double-A homer in 61 contests and then was called up to the Majors after the game. The 20-year-old had to be added to the 40-man roster after the season anyway, so the Mets are only speeding up the process by a few months. Still, as good as Herrera’s been (.340/.406/.560 in Double-A), it’s a bit of a surprise that he’s Majors-bound already.
Rangers C Jorge Alfaro, Double-A Frisco: 2-for-5, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, R — Alfaro has hit well since getting the bump up to the Texas League. In 19 games, he’s hit four homers and is batting .256/.322/.451, which is pretty close to his career Minor League line. The backstop has upside beyond that, especially in the power department, that would require a sharpening of the hit tool to unlock. At 21, Alfaro has plenty of time to figure that out.
Pirates OF Austin Meadows, Class A West Virginia: 2-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 RBI, R, BB — Meadows has been one of the South Atlantic League’s best hitters since finally joining the circuit in July after a hamstring injury in Spring Training. The big center fielder has hit .321/.386/.489 in 35 games with the Power, clubbing three homers and 12 doubles. The Atlanta native should be ready for a look in the Florida State League next season.
Marlins LHP Jarlin Garcia, Class A Greensboro: 5 IP, 4 H, 5 K — Garcia has run through 18 consecutive scoreless innings to close out the regular season, slimming his ERA to 4.38 in 25 starts. The 21-year-old has shown swing-and-miss stuff and an acumen for inducing ground balls in his full-season debut.
