Other top prospect performance:

Yankees 2B Robert Refsnyder, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre: 3-for-4, 2B, R — The 23-year-old infielder struggled in his first couple Triple-A series, striking out eight times in his first six games without a walk. In the five games since, he has five walks and no strikeouts, as well as a .389 average. Refsnyder has hit at every level, batting .342 and tying career high for homers (6) to start the year in Double-A, and could be a long-term solution for the Yankees at second base if his defense comes along.

Red Sox LHP Brian Johnson, Double-A Portland: 7 IP, 6 H, ER, 4 K, HR — Johnson allowed a solo homer to Willy Garcia but otherwise was tremendous yet again for the Sea Dogs. The homer was just his second allowed in 54 1/3 innings, during which time he has a 1.66 ERA. The complete game was his first as a pro.

Orioles 1B Christian Walker, Double-A Bowie: 3-for-4, HR, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R — Walker continues to slug for the Baysox, leading the Eastern League with 18 homers, already by far a career high. The first baseman has always shown a good approach and the ability to hit for average. If he’s going to hold down a big league first base job, the power will need to remain as he continues to climb the ladder.

Tigers OF Steven Moya, Double-A Erie: 2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R — Moya’s raw power can compete with anybody in the Minors, and he’s slugged 13 long balls since the start of May. He also has a .281 on-base percentage backed by eight walks in 68 games, and will probably always be held back by his aggressive approach.

Rangers RHP Alec Asher, Double-A Frisco: 6 IP, 6 H, BB, 5 K — Asher’s outing was overshadowed by Hauschild’s no-hit bid, but Asher is the better prospect and is having a stellar season. Selected in the fourth round of the 2012 Draft, the junior college product has a 2.89 ERA in 15 Double-A starts.

D-backs RHP Aaron Blair, Class A Advanced Visalia: 7 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 9 K — Blair has 105 strikeouts in 87 innings this year split between the Cal and Midwest Leagues. He has 18 strikeouts and two walks over his past two starts and is looking like an excellent get at the back of the first round by Arizona in the 2013 Draft.
