MiLB.com game stories:

Astros SS Carlos Correa goes 5-for-6 with six RBIs

Braves INF Joey Meneses hits for cycle on Mexican Mother’s Day

Orioles RHP Kevin Gausman returns from pneumonia with 4 2/3 scoreless

Cardinals OF Stephen Piscotty homers twice for Redbirds

Brewers RHP Mike Fiers fans career-high 13 in rout

D-backs 1B Nick Evans drives in five for Reno

Cubs 2B Stephen Bruno homers twice, gets four hits

Braves RHP Jarrett Miller strikes out career-high 12 in first win

Rays SS Hak-Ju Lee collects three hits, three RBIs

Rangers LHP Frank Lopez strikes out nine over seven two-hit frames

Other top prospect performances:

Blue Jays OF Kevin Pillar, Triple-A Buffalo: 3-for-5, HR, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R, K — Pillar is one of the best stories in the Minors, raising from modest high school player who backed into a college roster spot to a breakout prospect who reached the Majors in 2013. After a slow start to 2014, Pillar has driven his average up to .311 and OPS to .824. Could be a good fit as a fourth outfielder on a contending team.

Dodgers OF Joc Pederson, Triple-A Albuquerque: 2-for-5, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, K, CS — Not a whole lot left for Pederson to prove in the Pacific Coast League, where he’s slashing .373/.481/.679 with 11 homers and 10 steals. Dude just needs a place to play.

Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard, Triple-A Las Vegas: 6 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 10 K, HR — Pitching in Las Vegas is a tall task, but Syndergaard has actually pitched pretty well there with a 33-to-10 K/BB in 33 innings at home.

Cardinals OF James Ramsey, Double-A Springfield: 3-for-5, HR, 2B, 3 R, RBI, K — The 2012 first-rounder has found his stroke in returning to the Texas League, slashing .288/.373/.538 with nine homers.

Cubs 3B Kris Bryant, Double-A Tennessee: 2-for-5, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, BB, 2 K — Bryant has five homers and six multi-hit games in his past 10 contests with a 1.053 OPS for the year.

[milbvideo id=”32783461" width=”480" height=”270" /]

Blue Jays OF Dalton Pompey, Class A Advanced Dunedin: 3-for-5, HR, 2 RBI, R, BB, 2 SB — The 2010 16th rounder from Ontario is having an outstanding year in the FSL, slashing .346/.423/.485 with 17 steals in 18 opportunities.

Rangers 3B Joey Gallo, Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach: 2-for-5, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, 2 K — Gallo’s strikeout rate has been on the rise over the last week and a half, but that hasn’t slowed his output much, with four homers and a 1.034 OPS in his past 10 games.

Cardinals LHP Marco Gonzales, Class A Advanced Palm Beach: 6 IP, 5 H, ER, BB, 8 K — The 2013 first-rounder has a 1.43 ERA with good peripheral rates and a knack for inducing ground balls through six FSL starts.

Braves 2B Jose Peraza, Class A Advanced Lynchburg: 2-for-4, R, BB, K, 3 SB — The 20-year-old is hitting .329 with 18 stolen bases as a Hillcat, and could be an electric sidekick to Andrelton Simmons in a year or two. He could use a little more strength to justify a role as an everyday second baseman, though.

Dodgers SS Corey Seager, Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga: 3-for-4, 2 2B, 2 R, RBI, BB, K — Seager’s shown a solid approach and a knack for solid contact throughout his pro career. The 6-foot-4 20-year-old has just two homers so far, but figures to add strength with age.

Rays LHP Blake Snell, Class A Bowling Green: 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 9 K, HR — The 21-year-old has shown better control in his return to the Midwest League, helping post a 2.54 ERA and induce an impressive 2.93 groundouts-per-fly out ratio.
