Cubs SS Javier Baez, Triple-A Iowa: 1-for-3, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB, K — Baez has struggled offensively with 46 strikeouts in 30 games, including 15 in his past 10. The homer was his fourth this season and his first this month.

Red Sox 2B Mookie Betts, Double-A Portland: 0-for-4, 2 RBI — Betts’ on-base streak of 66 games came to an end, but the 21-year-old still picked up a pair of important RBIs and ended the game with the highlight snag and throw below. Brewers RHP Taylor Jungmann, Double-A Huntsville: 7 IP, 9 H, 4 K — The 2011 first-rounder may be turning a corner with the Stars, lowering his ERA to 2.94. The hurler has shown better command, with 15 walks in 52 innings, while posting a positive 60.26-percent groundball rate, per MLBFarm.com.

Padres OF Rymer Liriano, Double-A San Antonio: 3-for-4, HR, 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R, SB — Four homers in 10 games for the 22-year-old and 10 on the season. The big right-hander appears to have found his strength after missing 2013 with an injury. Has also gone 6-for-7 stealing bases.

Mets 2B Dilson Herrera, Class A Advanced St. Lucie: 3-for-5, 2B, 2 R, SB — Herrera is hitting .313 with 10 stolen bases on the year. The 150-pound Colombian doesn’t pack much of a punch, but could profile as a leadoff or down-the-order regular from the keystone.

Padres RHP Joe Ross, Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore: 5 1/3 IP, R, BB, 8 K — The 19-year-old has 49 strikeouts in 49 innings and has allowed just one homer in the Cal League thus far.
