Other top prospect performances:

Cubs 2B Arismendy Alcantara, Triple-A Iowa: 4-for-4, 2B, 3B, 4 R, 2 RBI, BB, SB — A little bit of everything from Alcantara in this game. The 22-year-old has been hot of late (1.131 OPS over past 10 games), but his recent run has been overshadowed by double-play partner Javier Baez.

Nationals OF Destin Hood, Triple-A Syracuse: 2-for-5, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 2 R — Hood hasn’t quite reclaimed prospect status yet, but the 24-year-old is slashing .331/.374/.464 this season in 44 games split between Double-A and Triple-A.

Marlins LHP Brian Flynn, Triple-A New Orleans: 8 IP, 4 H, BB, 3 K — Flynn needed just 94 pitches to work through eight frames and dropped his ERA to 2.98 through 11 starts. The 6-foot-7 Wichita State product has been less consistent than he was a year ago, though.

Astros 1B Jon Singleton, Triple-A Oklahoma City: 2-for-5, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R, K — Singleton’s sharply cut down on the strikeouts this month, but he’s also hit for less power, slugging just .432 with four long balls. His overall .272/.392/.550 mark is still impressive and warrants a call up to Houston at some point this season.

Tigers OF Steven Moya, Double-A Erie: 3-for-4, HR, 2B, 2 R, RBI — Moya’s raw power can compete with that of nearly any other player in baseball, and when he connects as often as he has this week, he can do major damage. Moya’s gone 9-for-12 with three homers in his past three games and has as 1.125 OPS over his past 10. For the season, he’s hitting .272/.293/.520 with a 51-to-6 K/BB ratio.

Red Sox C Blake Swihart, Double-A Portland: 2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R — Swihart is slashing .291/.327/.473 this season. The switch-hitter has a knack for putting balls in play and made strides defensively in 2013.

Rockies RHP Daniel Winkler, Double-A Tulsa: 5 IP, H, 2 BB, 7 K — The 24-year-old added a cutter in Spring Training, giving him a variety of fastballs that all move out of the same window. Aided by his low 3/4 release, Winkler’s heaters have helped him post a 1.34 ERA with an outstanding 63-to-15 K/BB over 60 2/3 innings this season.

Cubs 3B Kris Bryant, Double-A Tennessee: 2-for-3, HR, RBI, R, BB, K — It’s getting difficult to find something new to say about Bryant two to three times a week for these roundups. He can hit and has done that really well with the Smokies.

Padres OF Hunter Renfroe, Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore: 3-for-5, HR, 2 RBI, R, 2 K — The 2013 first-round pick has 12 homers and 13 doubles on the season but has also struck out 63 times in 51 games.

Rangers OF Nomar Mazara, Class A Hickory: 2-for-4, HR, 3B, 4 RBI, 3 R, BB — The 19-year-old has been better of late, rebounding from an abysmal April in which he posted a .600 OPS. Over his past 10 games, he’s slashing .270/.341/.514.
