Dear Past Me,

In a year’s time, you will embark on your final journey to completing your long, 9-year architectural education to become a fully qualified Architect

This will be hard. Harder than you think.

An external complication that causes chaos to the world will add pressure and confusion to your study.

You will long for a 3D experience of human interaction.

You will break.

You will doubt.

But please persist.

You will find comfort in nature.

You will be supported by your peers.

You will have to find new ways of working. But don’t worry, this is what you are trained to do!

The knowledge you are building up will result in transferable skills and confidence that is part of you forever.

So here is some advice.

Stick to a programme.

One thing at a time.

Take breaks!

Take advantage of those long, dark, winter nights and cozy up by your overheating laptop that is still surviving from your uni days.

Just keep at it.

Focus on your own path.

Share your burden with your family.

Squish that kitty!

Create support systems with your fellow coursemates.

Tomorrow is a new day.

Oh! And if you happen to be doing the same course simultaneously with your partner, maybe only one of you should do it this year (your house and belly with thank you!)

And finally, passing your exams is only the beginning..
