how long I have searched.
how much I have failed.
the books I have read
both guided, derailed…

please, women, do know
that there, running deep,
is your inner core
that nothing can sweep.

life easily flows,
confusing becomes,
when something you chose
is, in fact, your mom’s…

her fears and her wounds
are suddenly yours.
it isn’t her fault
but now it’s your chores.

so maybe you start
becoming some clearer,
who’s this piece of art
you see in the mirror?

your nose is too round?
an uneven face?
look up the queens crowned!
was flawless the case?

the goddess is much
about the soul,
the energy, spirit,
and that inner core.

so next time you try
to let yourself down,
remember your core,
and straighten your crown.
