Happy Friday! MAP’s Five on Friday kicks off the weekend by sharing five things we loved this week. Join in with us by sharing five things you’re loving in the comments below!

{{№1: Watching}}

Last week MAP President and Co-Founder, Steven Olikara, had the opportunity to appear on PBS’ hit show The Open Mind. The program features thoughtful conversations about the challenges society faces and innovative people who are working to solve them.

{{№2: Listening}}

This pick comes from MAP staff member Tiffany Jones.

“I just listened to a great episode of the Ezra Klein Show podcast. Ezra (pretty liberal) interviews Arthur Brooks, the president of the American Enterprise Institute (pretty conservative). Their conversation revolves around the idea that disagreement in politics is a good thing, but the way that we disagree today is really just masking our contempt for the opposing side. This contempt, Brooks argues, is part of what’s holding back our democracy. It’s something that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.”

{{№3: Celebrating}}

With a new generation of leadership entering politics, campaigns are getting younger and more creative. PopSugar follows millennials Tania Arrayales and Anjelica Triola, two recent additions to the world of politics who are invested in a more widely appealing process. Read about how these women use trends like streetwear, Instagram, and Fly Wheel to attract fresh faces.

{{№4: Highlighting}}

Dubbed the world’s most Instagrammable hotel, this “millennial pink” themed establishment boasts of its alternative atmosphere and art deco themes. Take a look at The Paradiso Art Hotel and see for yourself!

{{№5: Reading}}

A new green wave is sweeping the nation and it’s taking disposable cutlery with it. From Starbucks pledging to phase out plastic straws by 2019, and We Work no longer serving meat in their buildings, environmental conservation is on the rise. Learn about how these new millennial-driven initiatives are changing workplaces for all generations!
