Celebrate the 100 years since the 19th Amendment was passed and see the National Portrait Gallery’s exhibition Votes for Women: A Portrait of Persistence. This exhibition follows the more than 80 year history of women of all backgrounds fighting for the right to vote, including the 19th Amendment and the 1965 Civil Rights Act. See photographs, original banners, letters, and artifacts from famous suffragettes. This exhibit runs through January 2020.
