Happy Friday! MAP’s Five on Friday kicks off the weekend by sharing five things we loved this week. Join in with us by sharing five things you’re loving in the comments below!

{{№1: Celebrating}}

This past Tuesday, MAP celebrated its 5 year anniversary! Representative Caroline Simmons and Senator Frank LaRose received our inaugural Rising Star Award for their bipartisan spirit and achievements. If you missed the event or want to relive the celebration, watch our Facebook Live and event photos.

{{ №2: Honoring}}

Our Congressional Future Caucus is made up of diverse leaders and MAP honors their heritage. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (Sep. 15-Oct. 15) with us by watching a message from Rep. Curbelo, Rep. Barragán, Rep. Soto, and Rep. Gallego. We sat down with these Future Caucus members and discussed what Hispanic Heritage Month means to them.

{{№3: Highlighting}}

We welcome Oregon to the Future Caucus family. This 27th Future Caucus launched last week and is chaired by Representative Julie Fahey (D-14), Senator Dallas Heard (R-1), Representative Diego Hernandez (D-47), and State Representative for House District 1, David Brock Smith (R-1).

{{№4: Genius-ing}}

The MacArthur Grant is a $625,000 prestigious award given to fund the work of “creative geniuses.” This year’s winners include young creatives: composer Matthew Aucoin, 28; violinist Vijay Gupta, 31; chemist Livia S. Eberlin, 32. Check out the full list!

{{№5: Laughing}}

We’re both laughing and crying at the news that a 2 year old shredded over $1,000 of his parents’ savings. After Dad’s initial shock, he learned of a happy ending. There’s a “Mutilated Currency Division” within the Bureau of Engraving and Printing that helps mend these situations.
