Startups: Pakistan All Set To Get Three More National Incubation Centers

ISLAMABAD, 16th June 2017: The National ICT R&D Fund of the Federal Ministry Of Information Technology officially signed memorandums of understanding with different parties to set up there more National Incubation Center’s across Pakistan, similar to the National Incubation Center currently operational in Islamabad.

When opened, all provinces except Baluchistan will have a National Incubation Center working to promote startup ecosystem.

After a bidding process, the National Incubation Center will be managed by LUMS in Lahore, TPL Trakker in Karachi and LMKT in Peshawar. No party could win the bid to setup an NIC in Baluchistan. ICT R&D Fund has said that the bidding process for the Incubation Center in Balochistan will be held again.

The government will provide about PKR 600 million to each of the parties to set up NIC.
