LOSING WEIGHT
It’s Easier To Not Consume Calories Rather Than To Burn Them
After all, prevention is better than cure, no?
Growing up, I was blessed with very high metabolism. Add in the fact that I was also very active in sports, it was a successful recipe for never gaining weight and enjoying any food I wanted to eat.
Then my mid twenties came and it came with a vengeance.
It was also when work started to catch up on me and I could no longer be as active in sports as I were previously.
Needless to say, the weight started to gain a stronghold on me and before I knew it, I started gaining weight like never before.
I put this down to three reasons:
- I was not as physically active as I was in my teens and early twenties
- I was still eating like I did in my teens and early twenties
- My metabolism was slowing down as I aged (something that we can’t stop, but it is something we can still influence)
And before I knew it, it was 20 years since I was last at my ideal weight (between 65kg to 68kg — that’s around 150lbs), until I started changing one thing — how I view my calories intake.
