Mental health, self-care, compassion and all these topics are being promoted more. But, there are still challenges within society that make it extremely difficult for us to have a healthy wellbeing.

The reality is, according to research, we aren’t doing as well as we might think.

Dr Davidson eloquently explains this in his Ted talk. Here’s what he has to say on the challenges society brings, which make it hard for us to have a healthy wellbeing.

1. Distractibility

The first challenge is how distracted we are and the impact this has on our wellbeing.

Research by Havard Psychologists provides staggering results.

They used an app to contact thousands of volunteers at random intervals during the day. They asked three questions:

  1. How happy they were
  2. What they were doing
