4 Mental Reframes I Use Daily That Have Changed My Life
Reframes are like ‘cheat codes’ for life — they can dramatically improve your mental and emotional state, and help you achieve more.
As someone now in my 30’s, I often think how incredible it would be if I could go back in time and give my 18-year-old self a sheet of paper with the following 4 reframes explained. “LEARN THESE,” I’d write in big bold capital letters at the top of the page.
Hopefully, in some parallel reality, that actually happened. In this reality, however, I’ve picked these up over several years and, through effort and persistence, learned to apply them in my daily life.
To “reframe” something means to shift your mindset to see situations, events, or feelings from a different perspective —usually from something negative, to something more empowering. It means to change the “frame” or story you put around something you experience, in a way that helps you, rather than hinders you.
With practice, reframes become automatic mental habits that change your life for the better.
