Many people know the things autistic people struggle with.

Those are usually quite stereotypical and often not true, a lot of people still think that autistic people are all the same.

We’re not all mathematical superstars.

In this article, I’ll share 4 autistic traits that aren’t very common with most people.

1 — Masking to Fit in the Group

Because we’re unfamiliar with the natural feeling of social being, we mask it.

It’s a very common thing autistic people do.

We’re expected to fit in, but we didn’t get the manual to do so, that’s the best explanation I think.

Masking is different for everyone. Some people copy other people’s behavior in order to blend it. But others use masking to hide their true emotions and feelings.

This process is draining your social battery, which makes autistic people more vulnerable to being depressed or burning out.

Especially girls and women suffer from this.
