Why is it so hard for us to be at peace right now?

No other species on this planet is feeling as miserable as we do.

Zen is a state of inner peace and contentment, but it’s not easy to achieve.

We are struggling to find this sense of calm and balance in our lives even for a second.

The true purpose of ZEN is to see things as they are, to observe things as they are, and to let everything go as it goes. — Shunryu Suzuki

Here are five things that stop you from becoming more Zen:

Constant distractions

Peace requires stillness. Our minds are the opposite of still. We have fireworks going on in our heads constantly.

One thought after another is shooting out of nowhere.

We are scared to death to listen to our own thoughts so we make sure the firework is never stopping by scrolling on social media, switching on a podcast or watching Youtube.

The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness. — Sakyong Mipham
