The age is for multi-skilled, versatile people. This is no new information. No more is the world of not going beyond the simple career titles and positions.

We live in a high-accelerating world with a wide scope of sub-specialties and thousands of different job titles, all of which require different combinations of skills and strengths from a candidate.

It’s also not the age of holding one 9–5 job for most of us, but securing ourselves with side hustles, projects, and freelance endeavors if we have the chance, meaning the skills and interests to go after these things, which is a huge plus.

That’s why being multi-faceted makes you win in such an environment.

A multi-faceted person is curious, creative, flexible, and open to learning and new experiences. In David Epstein’s words from his book “Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World”:

“Generalists… juggle many interests rather than focusing on one. They’re also more creative, more agile, and able to make connections their more specialized peers can’t see.”
