Your belief you need to act perfectly hinders your accomplishments. You wait for the perfect time to begin, putting off an imperfect start now for the dream of an ideal beginning. A magical future when you have completed all your preparation, identified the ideal workplace, and are guaranteed no interruptions. But that perfect time never comes. You never begin; thus, you never accomplish the most meaningful things.

The truth is that there is no better time to start than right now. If you sense that urge, embrace it and take the first step. It’s that simple, but you don’t do it. Why not? And more importantly, what can you do about it so you can start and complete more?

The Underlying Reason You Don’t Accomplish More

Let’s put it out there: Lack of self-compassion is why you feel the need to do things perfectly. You don’t think you are good enough, don’t believe you deserve success, and are convinced that if it is worth doing, it must be difficult, perhaps too difficult for you.
