I’ve been saving up for this article for years now.

I’m a voracious note-taker. Anytime I see or hear something interesting, I write it down. No exceptions.

My notes app is bursting at the seams and begging for mercy.

And as a quick writing tip — always, always make notes like this. A quick 1–2 sentences can usually evoke tons of details from memory many years later.

August 2015 — Drama Near The Entrance

We were preparing for my birthday and having a few people over. We needed barbeque supplies.

So we went to the big Super Walmart on the way home from the beach. This is the crazy Walmart — the wild west of retail, the type where all those memes come from.

As we entered the building, two police were holding a thin white man down near the entrance, putting him in handcuffs.

He’s shouting, “I didn’t touch her bro!”

“I didn’t do anything, sir!”

We never figured out what happened. My guess was that he either assaulted a girlfriend or an employee and someone apprehended him until cops showed up.
