Internal accountability wasn’t always top of mind for me.
My self-awareness was often missing. It would take an intense argument or period of sorrow to begin the process of reflection. In response, I blamed, bullied, and occasionally beat myself up over my flaws.
I would listen and ponder my strengths and weaknesses, with a resolve to hold myself more accountable. Then I would regress to how I was.
What I needed was a better system of internal accountability. One that would make the process of introspection consistent. I found a solution where I didn’t expect to find one.
