A disciple of the Dalai Lama was arrested and tortured by the Chinese army when Tibet was taken. Years later, when he was released and again met his leader, the Dalai Lama asked him what was the hardest part of his imprisonment. His answer was that what he was most afraid of was to stop loving his torturer.
