Momentum is Everything

You can start anything purely off motivation.

For example, the newbie gym bro.

He wants big muscles to impress the girls at the beach.

  • He takes creatine supplements
  • He drinks mass gainer shakes
  • He hits the gym hard
  • He’s sore every day

But one month in, he doesn’t see any progress

So he gives up.

He had momentum, and the gains train was right around the corner.

Gym progress is the perfect metaphor for progress. It’s harder to keep going, even when it sucks, than it is to start the thing that sucks.

Anyone can do something that sucks once.

It takes a different mindset entirely to keep embracing the suck.

I took 5 days off my business because I had a 4-day film shoot for my 9–5.

The shoot was a total time and energy suck.

I couldn’t keep up with my business because of the early mornings and the extended film sessions.

I didn’t post a video, send emails, or engage on X. I lost all my momentum and spent the entire weekend grinding to get…
