Philosophy is Like a Painting
We are all artists in our own right.
When you first look at a painting, your eyes often deceive you. Take this mystical illusive painting by Oleg Shuplyak for example. We see certain patterns of strokes that morph into a figure of a woman. Your eyes can only take you so far in terms of the aesthetics of something.
To an untrained eye, a painting is a painting. They don't see the layers and layers behind the delicate stroke of a brush. They don't necessarily see the hidden meaning the artist themself was trying to convey.
But the point remains. There is much more substance of thought to a painting than we think. This is where the similarity with philosophy comes in.
Art is merely a branch off of philosophy. They are both expressive crafts. The following words I write serve as an analogy to better help one understand their place within philosophy.
