Making a crucial life decision, like moving your family to a foreign country, requires balancing emotion and logic.

I can’t explain why I moved to New Zealand.

When people ask, I offer up with some bland excuses.

“I didn’t like the new contract my employer wanted me to sign.”

“I wanted an inside look at what it’s like to work in a public healthcare system.”

“New Zealand is a beautiful country.”

“COVID”

Those explanations are partially accurate, but none is the real reason I packed up my family and moved to the far side of the world.

The truth is that I wanted to do it. I wanted to expand my horizons, try something new and have an adventure. None of that is logical, but all of it is valid.
