The Great Recession (Realization)

We are looking down the barrel of a recession that will go down in the history books. Some are even calling it “The Great Recession.”

All of the negative connotations with recessions and economic downturns seem unhelpful. This Great Recession is really just a “Great Realization.” We’re about to do a hard reset on our brains and come to some pretty awesome realizations.

It’s during these uncertain times that we question everything we’ve done to date and a lot of what we know. Here are a few realizations that will come out of this Great Realization.

What Goes Up Must Come Down

It’s easy to only remember the good times because this has been one of the longest runs in prosperity we’ve experienced. The markets have been doing well for so long that we forgot the last recession all the way back in 2008.

The realization we’re going to have is that the financial world we’ve been living in is not normal.

We have asset bubbles everywhere that are fueled by debt that will never be paid back, and it’s time for a rest; it’s time for things to come crashing down so that we may be reminded that the…
