As we rise in social status, the pursuit of excitement becomes more intense.

The modern man is certainly more evolved and less bored than his ancestors. Yet it is palpable that mankind has been increasingly evolved to be more afraid of boredom than he has ever been. It is rather constructed in his mind that boredom is not a natural process and must be avoided like the plague at all cost.

And here we are, dreading our desk jobs, fantasising a life of novelty in a different paradise each and every day. I mean, what is the harm of seeking an adventure? We need something to keep us alive, don’t we?
