You’ll have to excuse my petty complaining (though it has a point).

A point that could get you a promotion, raise, or any number of other rewards tied to greasing the wheels of the lumbering machine we call society. It gets people to do more of what you want them to do and less of what you don’t want them to do.

It’s stupidly simple, too.

Here’s A Story

Let’s pretend that I’m hypothetically sitting here after reading two separate emails related to a single follow-up email that I shouldn’t have had to send. Hypothetically.

And it’s all based on a known company communication protocol.

One that, in this case, is not working as designed. Let’s also say that I hypothetically left notes in this communication portal that went unread and unresponded to for weeks.

Hence, the hypothetical email that I shouldn’t have needed to send.

What do I get in return? Two (not one) responses that answered different questions from my email and the original message in the communication portal. The answers do not make it completely clear about my next steps.
