You imagine your life as a box filled with your collected experiences and possessions: a successful career, love, family, some luxurious vacations, and so on. The belief is that if you load this box, your life will be happy and fulfilling. However, this is not always the case.
How you fill that box may be more important than what you put in it. If you get the order wrong, your life will have a different story with a less happy conclusion.
A Tale of Two Success.
Let’s look at two stories with the same amount of success but different trajectories.
Rob
Rob wanted to be a writer. He dreamed of a successful career in which he could put his ideas in print for the entertainment and education of others. After graduating with a fine arts degree, he started writing online. For the most part, he was shouting into an empty room. His work collected very few reads and made scant income, forcing him to take a dead-end job to pay his living expenses.
