Here’s the thing about New Year’s Resolutions: people do them all wrong.

They get too caught up in the pressure of January 1st. If they slip up, they lose all motivation and give up. But I like to think of them as an ongoing goal. “Mess ups” are just part of the process. They also don’t HAVE to start on January 1st.

With that in mind, consider resolutions for your love life in 2022. Sure, getting in shape or applying for your master's are great goals, but most people never consider how much they can improve their relationship in one year.

No matter how long you’ve been with your partner, your relationship can always use a little TLC. Like the plant in the living room, relationships need constant care to ensure things are going smoothly.

So if your communication is off, you’ve felt distant, or you’re fighting more, consider one of these resolutions to improve your relationship in 2022:

“Instead of assuming my partner is a mind reader, I will communicate my expectations.”

In 2021, the phrase “if they wanted to, they would” went viral on Tiktok. People used it on videos of their partners giving them expensive gifts and elaborate flower arrangements.
