What Happened When I Went 4 Years Without TV or Internet at Home

It started out of laziness. Moving into my new condo in Denver, Colorado, I had basic cable TV included in my rent—all I had to do was pay five dollars and get it hooked up. Then, all I had to do was call an internet company to get Wi-Fi set up—or try to steal it from my neighbors. (Just kidding.)

But because I was busy unpacking and settling into a new city, I couldn’t be bothered. So I decided to see how long I could go without Wi-Fi or TV at home. I thought I would cave in after a month, but over 4 years went by, and I never wavered. And better still, those 4 years were some of the best (and happiest) of my life.

Without as many distractions, I invested all that extra free time into myself, which paid massive dividends and helped to change my trajectory in life. Here’s what happened during those 4 years—and how those lessons can help you too:
