Why You Should Buy That Expensive Thing You’ve Been Thinking About
And why it is not as materialistic as you might think.
‘You spent how much on that?!’
Whether your passion is fashion, watches, technologies, art, wine or something else, we have probably all heard this question from our friends and families.
The aim of this article is not to condone spending irresponsibly, but to help us understand why it is not as materialistic as it seems when we make a pricey purchase and why we should embrace our passion and invest in them.
Here, I am defining ‘passion’ as things or experiences that excite us, and while they don’t necessarily need to be expensive, they are often priced at a premium. But on the flip side, just because something is expensive, that doesn’t mean it is a passion of yours. For something to be qualified as your passion, there must be a level of appreciation and understanding that goes beyond just purchasing an item or an experience.
I believe our passions make us unique and help us bond with each other, but that relationships are at risk if we start to value our passions by money and seeing them a materialistic vice.
I hope that by sharing some of my passions and opinions, we can get a better…
