This isn’t a cool confession to make.

Entrepreneurship has become the ‘it’ thing to do in the past few years — although I have to admit, I don’t know where it began. When I was growing up, entrepreneurship was seen as a semi-shameful, even shady thing to do.

We called it “hustling.” You only did it if you couldn’t study or you otherwise have no other choice.

And after I became an entrepreneur, I could see why.

Owning Your Own Business Can Be Uncomprehendingly Challenging and Stressful

We’ve all heard horror stories about entrepreneurship. I’m here to tell you that all those horror stories are real.

I have worked 19-hour days at my events business. The business was expanding, and I wasn’t used to the extra logistics our expansion required. So I messed it up. My business partner and I ended up doing things like stacking mats and packing goodie bags piece by piece well into the night.

I remember smoking a cigarette with him afterward. Our faces were sweaty. Our arms were shaking…
