POETRY
The Valiant
A poem of strength and serenity
She is a walled city
A treasure trove within
Her gates high and fortified
To keep enemies of the soul away
She sits atop a high mountain
Of lofty dreams, wants, goals and ambitions
Where watering and nurturing
She shields them from dream killers and destroyers
She is a walled city
A monastery of thoughts
She meditates on life’s curiosities
And burning questions on being and self soliloquy
Not content to be a casual observer
Or wandering world pilgrim
She sets her sights on the high mark
The attainment of her life’s goals and purposes
Her sole quest and utmost religiosity
She is a walled city
A beacon of light standing
Tall and aloof unyielding
In a world of shifting sands and short loyalties
She is woman — Of steel; of strength; of tenacity
She will remain strong and steadfast
Even after the storm is long past
Continuing her humble occupation
As guiding light to sea battered life travelers, seekers, and searchers
