Is anybody prepared for a snow storm nowadays?

On almost every winter evening there’s a forecast of heavy snow in some area of the country. The populous, yet again, is expected to gird its loins and endure another day or two of some type of deprivation.

If the television weather forecasters are to be believed, anyone in the affected area should plan on things shutting down for the next day (possibly for the foreseeable future).

Holy wind chill factor!

I’m sure you’ll agree that perhaps, more often than not, the dire predictions of snow and/or ice never come to pass. The storm tracks either to the north or south or east or west and if there was another direction they may throw that in there for good measure.

No apology for the millions of dollars lost in companies whose workers stay home, to businesses such as restaurants and retail who have to plan for employees and customers hibernating because of the foul weather forecast.

No regrets expressed for all the knowledge delayed meant for thirsty young minds with schools declaring snow days.

Think about it, a snow day when snowball wars are canceled for lack of snow.
