Covid-19 closures. Corporate layoffs. Market instability. Supply-chain uncertainty. There are a lot of reasons why money is on people’s minds right now. Many of us want to donate to causes we care about — but are worried about being able to cover the essentials. If that’s the case, check out our articles on setting financial goals and saving up — and keep an eye on our Meetup page for upcoming events and workshops to help you through. It might seem like an unconventional time to start thinking long-term, but resilience is all about working with what you have right now.

If you’re in a position to protest with your purse, there are a couple of ways you can do so. The easiest and most straightforward way to support the movement for racial justice is to donate. There are lots of lists out there to help you decide where to donate, such as Vox’s A criminal justice expert’s guide to donating effectively right now, and The Cut’s How to Support the Struggle Against Police Brutality.

Another way to make an impact with your money is by buying from Black-owned businesses. If, like us, you’re based in the German capital, Black Brown Berlin is an amazing resource. For a global perspective accessible from Europe, we love Elle’s recent rundown: 52 Black-Owned And Designed Fashion Brands To Support Forever, From Fenty To Cushnie.

If you have any more suggestions or ideas, we’d love to hear about them in the comments…
