Although prison is no laughing matter, the levity that Frederikke Aspock brings in this film helps us to embrace the moral dilemmas that inmates can face.
At times this film is funny and lighthearted, but at it’s heart it illuminates the brutality that exists within us, and within the system, when circumstances are forced. In prison, there is no doubt that a hierarchy exists, and how would we conduct ourselves in those conditions?
There are characters that you will love, ones you will hate, and often I found myself going back and forth between the two as the landscape changes.
Great film and worth the watch. Who will you love/hate, and will your opinion change throughout the film? A very provocative look at human behaviour.
