Wow, was I surprised by this film. I did not know that entering into a film about food would have me in tears. Eric Khoo did a fantastic job.

This is a story about the history of the atrocities that occurred between the Chinese and the Japanese, and how it affected one particular family.

What would it be like if war times affected your family, but without connection to it, you unintentionally wounded your grandmother? This is that film.

This is a simply beautiful film about a boy, who at a young adult age, has lost both of his parents. His lineage begins in China, but his upbringing is in Japan. Through his mom’s journal, this young man goes on a journey to put together the pieces of his family.
