Whitewater, Dec. 17/21
When it looks like this in the morn, time to go skiing!
Another great day to hit the hill. Why especially today? Silver King Chair has been closed all week, and is opening this morning. Fresh snow, mmmmmm. Good a reason as any!
Add to that a bluebird day, and well, it just doesn’t get much better.
From the Silver King Chair, it was so fun to watch the skiers and boarders carving up that beautiful powder. This boarder had just landed a backflip with ease, floating down the run.
All though the temps were quite chilly (I believe around minus 18), the thrill of the fresh air, blue sky, and all of the untouched snow seemed to make us all immune to the cold temps.
I was also really impressed with the Whitewater grooming crew. The beautiful corduroy was skillfully done, and super soft to glide through.
I must say that being fairly new to Whitewater, there is something for everyone. Fresh powder, tree skiing, and groomed runs for the less experienced or more careful (like myself). All of this, and there is still a lot of terrain to be opened! Should be a great season.
Before you leave the resort, make sure you check out the food. The menu in Coal Oil Johnny’s is excellent, as I’m sure it is at the other venues. Great way to end your day.
