Objective: Development of a 5-year Information Technology Strategic Plan

Background and Solution: The City of Renton engaged Mindboard to conduct a comprehensive assessment of City’s existing technology environment, staffing, service delivery, applications, business systems, processes, and other investments and resources.

Mindboard project team reviewed critical IT applications and identified gaps and challenges which would require process, software, or organizational improvement. The results of this analysis gave ample data to understand the City’s operational and technical abilities, skills and resources to achieve its desired future state.

As a result of this engagement, Mindboard developed actionable recommendations, which enabled the City to develop, maintain, support, upgrade and improve a cost effective, responsive, secure, and stable IT environment. The developed recommendations were prioritized into immediate (0–3 months), short term (3–12 months), medium term (12–36 months), and long term (36–60 months) measures for implementation purposes.
