I’m a big fan of Mental Health Awareness Week; it’s important to promote discussion of mental health. However, it’s also important to recognise that mental health doesn’t end after MHA week.

This blog shares my four tips that have helped me with my mental health in the hope of continuing the conversation.

1. Meditation

This is by far the single most important thing I’ve done for my mental health.

I meditate almost daily and more when required. If I’m having a stressful day, I find 15 mins and a quiet place to meditate and recentre.

Meditating helps me control anxiety, mentally prepare for the day and come back from the brink of overwhelm. I never thought I’d say this, but meditation changed my life.

2. Listen to your body
