After Spring Break, the window of time you have before potential Summer vacation talk begins is ever-shrinking. Whether it’s an amusement park-clad family road trip, romantic getaway, or Vegas-status hiatus with friends…people typically don’t get too adventurous when it comes to Summer vacation planning.

There is the occasional map wielding backpacker in Europe, but most of us are just looking for the simplest path to getting out of our own heads. Afterall, the aim is relaxation, isn’t it?

If you’re like me, many of your vacations in life have involved going to beautiful places to engage in tourist activities with other tourists, in tourist-ey areas located at some beautiful vacation destination…

Is this really what we pictured when we thought of “traveling the world?”

As a mental health professional, I believe travel needs to be an impactful learning experience to achieve lasting mental health…
