Joy and Suffering

Are they the same thing?

In Buddhism and mindfulness psychology, the notion of suffering is that this is all life until we acknowledge the realities or deeper truth about life. Most of our struggles and endeavours are about the avoidance of suffering, or rather of protecting ourselves from possible future suffering. This is called Dukkha. Its opposite is joy and is called Mudita.
