May I Be Safe
Loving kindness starts with yourself

Last night I sank deeply back into my beloved restorative yoga practice. It wasn’t quite the same as class in person — yet there we were — smiling and waving at each other. So very happy and relieved to see one another. It would do. It would do very nicely, in fact.
My yoga teacher started us out with a loving kindness meditation. I just love those. And it set the perfect tone for class.
May I be safe. I breathed the blessing out into The Universe. I felt Her wrap Love around me, through me — grounding me to my Now. Safely.
May I be happy. I breathed the blessing out into The Universe. I felt Her wrap Joy around me, through me — grounding me to my Now. Happily.
May I be healthy. I breathed the blessing out into The Universe. I felt Her wrap Healing around me, through me — grounding me to my Now. Comfortingly.
May I be at peace. I breathed the blessing out into The Universe. I felt Her wrap Serenity around me, through me — grounding me to my Now. Peacefully.
As I moved through the gentle postures of my class I carried the blessings with me all the way through till I lay in corpse pose. At the very end of class, we repeated our loving kindness mantra. Only this time we expanded our blessings to others. Each time encompassing more and more of Life.
May I be safe. May the Humans I love be happy. May the strangers in my life be healthy. May my enemies be at peace. May all beings everywhere be safe, happy. healthy, and at peace.
Because the more you sit in the company of The Universe and practice loving kindness, the more you remember Life is an echo. And there are no others.
Namaste.
